As humans, we don’t want to see or deal with conflict by default (subconsciously). It just seems more comforting not to. But our humanity itself conflicts. We have that constant desire to just seem safe going up against that constant ability to see reality (subconscious vs. conscious). We don’t like seeing our internal conflict or external conflict because of this.
The conflict is real however. There is real conflict within us, so there is real conflict in our world. There are negative, often tragic and horrifying events, happening all the time. For most of us in modern society however, it’s just not something we sense. The TV shows mostly happy, mundane things such as sports, weather, and celebrity news. World news is non-existent and even local tragedy isn’t fully covered. But what really does happen beyond the shallow and incomplete information we are fed?
Unfortunately, I can’t claim to know everything for sure, but a lot of what I do have every logical reason to believe isn’t always pretty. This post involves links to people and groups challenging conflict in the world. It IS NOT comforting. It DOES NOT make you feel happy. But there is reality involved, and we can’t fix anything until we admit the reality of conflict- including the reality that we are conflicted as well.
NOTE: Please do NOT assume the legitimacy of any of these organizations! Our blind faith in things is our problem. Instead, actually spend time checking them out, questioning their mission, evidence, and transparency. Also, challenge your own faith and knowledge. If you don’t know what’s real, maybe it’s time to find out?
