Liebster Award Via EvolvedLove

liebster2

I hope I’m doing this right. I think I have to link blogs though. I’ll figure that out after I post this…
So, this lovely, smart, logical young woman ‘nominated’ my blog and ten others with a Liebster Award. I don’t do awards in real life, but I like the purpose of this one- it is to build community and promote new and/or less-than-famous blogs and their bloggers.
Anyway, thanks again EvolvedLove, and may you live long and prosper (I’m actually a Star Wars nerd but Yoda sayings wouldn’t make sense)
-Below are the questions she posted for the bloggers she nominated, so now I shall answer them.
My (EvolvedLove’s) 11 Questions:

1. Where is your favorite place (that you’ve been)?
Oh boy, I’m stuck already… I have not lived a very adventurous life, but Alcatraz is a super awesome place. I don’t know, how about this… ‘the place where honesty meets practicality, where desire meets objectivity, and where compassion makes perfect sense logically.’
2. What country would you like to visit the most?
Probably Japan- I think it seems so unique, and so opposite of American culture is some ways, but also very cool and similar to some of my ideology for culture in a way as well. I believe a balance between individuality and social responsibility is something for all cultures to seek. America is at least supposed to be all about the freedom to be yourself, and Japan (I think- never been) deals with a community being most important. I’d like to experience that other side… plus they have robots and anime and video games!!
3. What was the motivation for starting your blog?
It was originally based off of my author website of the same name, but I splurged and decided to make it my personal blog where anything goes.
4. If you could change one thing about society, what would it be?
Wow, okay, umm… Actually this is easy, because it’s right up my alley in terms of dreams and thoughts. I’d make understanding ‘our selves’, our own mentality/humanity, part of the deal. Instead of just learning about the outside world (history, TV, celebrity, news W/E), we’d focus on getting children (and adults) to think for themselves- to recognize their own flaws, capabilities, emotions, feelings, thoughts, imagination, desires, and fears. Once we figure out just how much of our humanity is there, everything gets way better, really fast.
5. What is your favorite animal?
Walrus- easiest question yet. In general that may be true, but my dog Lucky is my single favorite animal in the whole world.
6. Do you write every day?
I try to, but sometimes… many times… it’s not as much as I know would be good for me.
7. What is your favorite book/books and why?
I have trouble paying attention or focusing on one thing for too long, so reading is something I’m not that comfortable with. I’m very visual, so it’s tough to read a whole book, but I’m reading up on blogs here and there… hope that counts.
8. What is the craziest thing you did in your teenage years?
LOL, I was a loner with a capital L. I didn’t get out much. I still don’t. I once climbed a 10 foot fence in my sister’s heels and dress during Halloween, because I was dressed up like a lady of the night (my friend was my pimp), and older kids were chasing us.
9. If you could have a conversation with any historical figure, who would it be? And why?
Adolf Hitler as a boy, because I believe people are people and I’d want to try and show him what humanity means (mainly his), and how important connecting to it is (mainly for him). That exterior influences will guide us and limit our value and humanity unless we find the willpower to take charge and improve the meaning of our lives through tough choices. And that everything gets better when realize and challenge our internal conflict. A lot of direct and indirect unnecessary suffering happened (and still happens) because we don’t see that we are the answer and the problem to everything.
10. What is the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought (without taking out a loan)?
I don’t buy much, but probably one of the vehicles I’ve owned. I think I bought a pickup truck I used to have for 3300 dollars cash.
11. What made you choose the title you have for your blog?Add your thoughts here… (optional)
It is the same name as my website for my books. You hear people say “Relatively speaking” but it’s even more relative to be relatively writing because it’s new.

Okay, so now I’m supposed to find 10 blogs and nominate them for the award… problem is, I’m not an avid blogger, and not super savvy with this virtual business. I don’t know how to send them the nomination.

So, I offer an alternative to the rules…

You go explore and find the blogs you like, and anyone who wants to can answer these 11 questions I would ask of you…

1) What do you want of out of life?

2) Are you sure you didn’t leave anything out from question 1?

3) If you had a million dollars, what would you ‘actually’ do with it most likely?

4) Do you believe in causality; that the universe works on cause and effect, where everything that happens makes something else happen differently than it would have?

5) (skip if you answered yes to 4) If not, how do you believe it works, and is that was made your breakfast this morning or drove your car?

6) (skip if you answered no to 4) Since you believe in causality, do you believe that you (a cause) can improve the effects of your life upon beings (including you) which can determine improvement (good/bad)?

7) Do you believe in our free-will; that the ability to act independently, beyond a singular path caused by preordained influence, exists in humans? That we ‘can’ choose our destiny, at least to a point?

8) (skip if you answered no to 7… no comment) To what degree is your path/life the exact one you would have and could have chosen? In other words, to what degree is it not, or automatically and necessarily dropped in to place when it didn’t have to be?

9) If you don’t believe in causality ‘and/or’ your own free-will, why do you do anything? Do you honestly believe that and why?

10) If you do believe in causality and your own free-will, why are you waiting to do more than you’re used to/more than you have to?

(Also, refer to questions 1 and 2)

Liebster Award

Alright, so first off — thank you very much to DefusingChaos for giving me this award!  Be sure to check out his blog! (:

I didn’t even know what the Liebster Award was at first so I had to look it up.  So, if like me, you don’t know what Liebster means, here ya go (taken from We Loved Here):

The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers (approximately). So, what is a Liebster?  The meaning: Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, endearing, and welcome. Isn’t that sweet? Blogging is about building a community and it’s a great way to connect with other bloggers and help spread the word about newer bloggers/blogs.

The Liebster Award rules are as follows:

1. Thank the Liebster Blog presenter who nominated you, with a link back to their…
