THE INTRODUCTION OF SELF- EXCERPT FROM SELF SUBSECTION

“Instincts don’t make us human. Thought doesn’t make us human. The ability to change doesn’t even make us human. What makes us human, and what makes you your self, is the realization, balance, and utilization of all of the above. This is our power: the power to understand and use our powers.

It only makes sense that our greatest power is the hardest one to discover and use. It’s so difficult to find who we are because it’s so easy not to. It’s easy to live for what you impulsively sense, what you can see and feel, and what provides instant satisfaction. It is easy to never even think about the question of self, because there is no need to. We already ‘seem to’ have the deepest and most influential aspects of our being taken care of. There is nothing known to challenge our existence. So, when we ask the question, we are asking to a world that cannot actually answer it. We believe an answer that is unreal and based outside of the truth. The truth, the real you, is in one spot in the universe. It’s within you. It lies directly beneath the exterior influences which have engulfed it. You need to be honest, you need to be determined, you need to care, and you need to fight, but you’ll find that all you need and all you are have always existed. It comes down to whether or not you want to relate to it more than you want anything else.”
